This is the first of the courses offered to parents and the lowest priced course to ensure every parent gets the information needed to be an I.E.P.!

Level 1 Special Education Foundations

There are three courses in this series to equip parents to be effective members of the special education process for their child. We also offer an advocacy course for parents or others who want to support parents through the IEP process as a professional advocate.

FAPE4U's Parent University: Level 1 Special Education Foundations

This is a very comprehensive course developed to ensure you have the needed knowledge to go into every IEP meeting for your child prepared. The course is divided into seven sections which begins with an overview of legal foundations. You will access links to helpful federal resources & to the state education department for every state where you can view the specific requirements for where you live. Through completion of each section you will navigate the IEP from development, implementation to graduation. The course format allows the flexibility needed so you may successfully complete the course. Information is parent friendly, accessible and has something to offer everyone whether you are a novice or experienced in special education. Course materials will be available through recorded presentations & links. We will communicate through live videos, discussion forums, chats on Substack & email. You do not need to be a member of Substack to participate.
